Who it is for
This program is for households with a puppy from about 8 weeks to 8 months, including young rescues. If you live in a Fishtown rowhouse, a Wayne twin, or a Doylestown place with a yard, the plan changes. The learning rules do not. Pavlov's Pooch Dog Training and Beyond builds the associations you will still want when the dog is three. You are a good fit if you want a schedule, a crate plan, and socialization that is thoughtful instead of a free-for-all at the dog park. You are also a fit if you already feel behind. Plenty of families call (267) 357-8109 at week 14. We start from the house you have now.
What happens
The free evaluation is a look at sleep, food, potty history, kids, and the rooms the puppy already rules. We do not spend the hour stacking cute cues. We watch how the puppy lands on the floor after play, whether the crate is a bedroom or a debate, and whether nipping is tiredness, teething, or a rehearsal of “hands are toys.” Lessons then cover house training math (not hope), bite inhibition, name response, sit and down that you can use at the door, and a first recall that is worth coming back for. We teach you how to host visitors so the puppy does not practice jumping on every guest from South Philly to Chestnut Hill. Elena Brooks leads most puppy cases and will tell you, kindly, when the puppy needs a nap more than another drill. Socialization is a map, not a crowd. We help you pick surfaces, sounds, people, and other dogs in your area who will not overwhelm a developing brain. A busy Saturday market is not automatically a good classroom. A quiet hardware run with food and an exit plan often is.
Timeline
Most families see cleaner potty logs and less nipping within two weeks if they keep the schedule. Reliable house manners take longer, often through the four-to-six-month stretch when curiosity spikes. We like a Starter package of four lessons for a focused first month, then Progress if adolescence is coming fast. We will not promise a finished dog before adult teeth are in. If you want puppy training near you in Greater Philadelphia, call (267) 357-8109. The free evaluation is how we keep the plan honest.
What a first month in your area looks like
Week one is usually sleep, potty math, and a crate the puppy can like. Week two adds visitor rules and a first sidewalk outing that is shorter than you think. Weeks three and four layer recall games in a yard or a quiet lot, plus handling for vet visits. Families in Fishtown often need elevator or stoop practice. Families in Newtown often need a plan for a bigger yard that still has an exit. We write both. Bring your questions about vaccines, dog parks, and kids’ friends. We will give you a conservative, science-based answer, not a dare. If you want puppy training near you, the free evaluation is the first honest hour. Call (267) 357-8109 and tell us the puppy’s age. We will tell you whether to start this week.
